Hannah and Bradley’s grandparents come for a visit. Grandpy and Grandma are birdwatchers. They take their grandchildren on a nature walk through a backyard apple orchard to look for birds and learn some fun and interesting facts. Together they enjoy a delightful family outing in nature.

This page is dedicated to helping kids grow in a world where daily pressure and instant gratification is expected. I will focus on two main topic – encouraging kids to get out in nature and to read books. These two things alone can help anyone cope. This sight is for positive comments ONLY where we can come together as a community, helping each other raise well-rounded kids. I encourage you to share posts on these topics as well as other ideas, inspirations, and even your own heart-felt experiences concerning these issues. Remember that kids are fascinated by nature discovery and we only have to foster that love through reading about beautiful far-away landscapes or walking in our own backyards.

Also, as a birdwatcher, I may post some lovey birdies! And from time to time I’ll mention my children’s book for those looking for a story about backyard birds. Again I encourage you to participate and I hope you enjoy my content.

About the Author and Photographer:

Multi-genre author Jennifer W. Smith grew up in New England. Jennifer’s parents, longtime bird watchers and advocates, have instilled in Jennifer the joys of watching and caring for backyard birds. Jennifer has collaborated with her father, Steve Brown, to bring this children’s story to life. Steve has been photographing birds for many years and his photographs are used in this story. This father/daughter team have treasured passing down their knowledge and appreciation for nature to Jennifer’s children, Steve’s grandchildren, Hannah and Bradley. They hope you enjoy this family and nature inspired book.
